VEDIC MATHS

                           By OMKAR TENDOLKAR

Hello friends,

This is  post number 52 from the series of "Vedic maths" blogs. Here in this blog we will learn about "The Rule Of Zeros"

Reference:

We had already learn about "Method of cubing number" our previous blog. If you have missed my last blog then please visit "VEDIC MATHS-49".

We had already learn about "Method of finding Cube The Anupriya Method-1" our previous blog. If you have missed my last blog then please visit "VEDIC MATHS-50".

We had already learn about "Method of finding Cube The Anupriya Method-2" our previous blog. If you have missed my last blog then please visit "VEDIC MATHS-51".

Cubing numbers:
Cubing can be defined as multiplying a number by itself and again by itself.
The cube of a number is expressed by putting a small three on the top right part of the number.
For example,
3^3 = 9
5^3 = 125.

In this blog we will study two methods of cubing numbers.
  1. Formula Method
  2. The Anupriya sutra

The Rule of Zeros:
In the examples that we had studied in previous blog  we put 3, 2, 1 and no zeros after each step.
However, this rule is applicable only up to the number 999. In other words, you can find a cube of any number up to 999 using this rule.
From the number 1000 onwards we double the number of zeros that you used to put in the former case.
So, from 1000 onwards we will put 6, 4, 2 and no zeros after each step. (Double of 3, 2, 1 and no zeros.) In this way the chain continues. However, we hardly come across such numbers in practical life and hence I am just providing a single example of the same without much elaboration.

1. Find the cube of 1001

Here, the number is above 999 and so we will put 6, 4, 2 and no zeros after the four answers obtained.
We break the number 10 | 01 in two parts
The value of ‘a’ is 10 and the value of ‘b’ is 1.
We move from left to right and the ratio b/a is 1/10.

                1000 | 100 |  10 |  1
                         | 200 |  20 |
              ----------------------------------
               1000 | 300 |  30 |  1

= 1000000000 + 3000000 + 3000 + 1
= 1003003001

Answer:
Cube of 1001 is 1003003001.

In the previous Blog we have seen the formula method and the Anurupya Method of cubing numbers.
When you are solving example, observe the digits used in the question and select the system which will give you the answer instantly.
If the number is made up of ones, two, threes or similar digits, then use the Anurupya Sutra.
If the number is closer to the bases then use the formula method.

You may ask your any query or doubt in comment box. I will try to resolve as early as possible.

In next blog we will discuss about "Concept of vinculum number & Conversion of general numbers into vinculum numbers".

Are you excited for this?...
Then, please wait for it.
I will post my new blog in next week.

We will meet very soon through our next  blog. Till that stay connected, stay healthy and stay safe.

Thanks

for giving your valuable time.

Good day😊.
